A
suitescript api
1objList.addEditColumn({2 column: /* serverWidget.ListColumn, required */,3 showView: /* Boolean, optional */,4 link: /* string, optional */,5 linkParam: /* string, optional */6});
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| options.column | serverWidget.ListColumn | required | Column that acts as a reference. The Edit/View column is added to the left of the column specified here. |
| options.showView | Boolean | optional | If true then an Edit/View column will be added. Otherwise only an Edit column will be added. |
| options.link | string | optional | The Edit/View base link. (For example: / app/common/entity/employee.nl) The complete link is formed like this: < link>?<linkParamName>=<row data from linkParam> . (For example: / app/common/entity/employee.nl?id=123) |
| options.linkParam | string | optional | The internal ID of the field in the row data where to take the parameter from. The default value is the value set in the options.column parameter. Tip: In most cases, the value to use here is internalid |

Nothing in the language compiles to List.addEditColumn(options) today. How should it read?

Write the Mynt you wish you could write.
A good proposal shows the syntax, the SuiteScript it should become, and argues for it: why it is clearer, how it fits the rest of the language, what it makes harder.
- Clarity. Does it say what happens, without ceremony?
- Consistency. Does it read like
load,saveandRef[field]? - Expressiveness. Does it cover the cases people actually write?
- Honesty. Does it hide a NetSuite cost, such as governance, that a reader should see?
